Written for and dedicated to my friend, Marina Kifferstein, Echo for the End of Time takes the culminating movement of the Quartet for the End of Time, and manipulates the notes in the live performance to showcase the recording's imperfections. The original piano and violin texture becomes a insistent choir, and frenzied, haunted bird calls. Echo for the End of Time is part of the Lemonade series, a set of electronic works that highlight the imperfections of recorded sound.
